Financial Help for Building Works

Our caseworkers can advise about eligibility for benefits. They will refer clients to organisations that can make the applications on their behalf.

Grants

We can advise you about eligibility for a Disabled Facilities Grant or a Small Repairs Grant

• How to proceed with a grant application
  
• Advise you about the Test of Resources and carry out a prelimary calculation

• Help you complete the forms and the accompanying paperwork
  
• Apply to the District Council for a grant on your behalf

Other sources of financial help

Caseworkers can on your behalf

• Apply to the British Legion if you have served in the forces.
  
• Make applications to trusts and charities that may help you.
  
• Refer you to the District Council for their loan scheme
  
• Refer you to organisations that provide energy efficiency grants for heating and insulation works
  
• Apply for other funding that might be available to you

Paying for the work your self

Some of our clients choose to pay for the work themselves. They may not be entitled to financial help, may not wish to be on a waiting list or they may prefer to carry out works differently to that required by those administering grants.

The Agency uses its expertise and experience and contacts with local builders to work with the client to carry out building jobs according to their wishes. We will agree to any fees to be charged before work commences.

We are able to help organise building works that are part of insurance claims.

Hardship Fund

The Agency has a Small Hardship Fund to help with small urgent jobs, where other funding sources are not available.
